<p><strong>Dead ringer for love.</strong></p> <p>It’s been a long road to release for <strong><a href="https://www.nintendolife.com/games/switch-eshop/undead_darlings_no_cure_for_love">Undead Darlings ~no cure for love~</a>.</strong> The project first sought funding via Kickstarter back in 2015 and initially failed to meet its modest goal, but the ex-NIS America staff of developer Mr. Tired Media were convinced that there was an audience for this game and remained determined to see it happen. Five years later, we <em>finally</em> have the finished version in our hands — and it’s clear what a labour of love this has been.</p> <p>Undead Darlings casts you in the role of one Reginald Happenstahnce, who wakes up one morning to discover a few things somewhat amiss. His childhood friend and neighbour Pearl has come to wake him up as she always does, but she’s looking rather paler than she used to, has bloody bandages all over her arms and smells a bit, well, <em>dead</em>. Oh, and there’s a zombie apocalypse happening that may or may not have been the fault of Reggie’s scientist father. Review: Alwa's Legacy - One Of The Best Metroidvanias We've Seen On Switch So Far

<p><strong>A legacy to be proud of.</strong></p> <p>A couple of years ago, Elden Pixels put out <strong><a href="https://www.nintendolife.com/games/switch-eshop/alwas_awakening">Alwa’s Awakening</a></strong>, a nice sort of throwback <a href="https://www.nintendolife.com/guides/feature-best-nintendo-switch-metroidvania-games">Metroidvania</a> that built a quality experience around a few well-designed ideas. It didn’t exactly light up the charts, but Alwa’s Awakening still managed to amass a small following, one which Elden Pixels tapped last November went it launched the Kickstarter for a sequel, <strong><a href="https://www.nintendolife.com/games/switch-eshop/alwas_legacy">Alwa’s Legacy</a></strong>. Now, one pandemic and less than one year later, the team has launched Alwa’s Legacy for the Switch and it is a <em>good time</em>. Alwa’s Legacy routinely demonstrates mastery of the elements necessary to a good Metroidvania, making for a concise and well-made experience that’s certainly worth your money.</p> <p>The story picks up with our hero Zoe waking up on a beach in Alwa, having lost all memory of how she got there. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Members Get EA Play on November 10

<p>Just six weeks from today, we continue our journey with the launch of Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. Jumping into the next generation of gaming with you – the player – at the center, we are working with creators around the globe to empower everyone to play the games they want, with the friends they want, when and where they want. With both Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, you will be able to play thousands of titles spanning four generations of gaming, from the most creative and innovative teams across the industry. And it’s thanks to those ambitious game creators that there are thousands more to come.</p> <p>This will be a massive moment for gamers and we’re excited to bring it to life with Xbox Game Pass and the amazing franchises from Xbox Game Studios and our industry partners, on day one. Review: Ys Origin - An Awesomely Accessible And Amiable Action RPG

<p><strong>Eesey peasy.</strong></p> <p>Nihon Falcom's <strong>Ys</strong> (pronounced "eese") been around since the days of the PC-8800, but only now are we seeing this formative tale in the enormously popular saga. Well, technically, a lot of people already saw it in 2006 when it originally released, or 2012 when it was initially localised. Thankfully, now it's on the Switch we can see that it has held up brilliantly, and is well worth playing whether it's for the first time or one of many encore playthroughs.</p> <p>The momentum of <strong><a href="https://www.nintendolife.com/games/nintendo-switch/ys_origin">Ys Origin</a></strong> is quite something. An action-RPG with the "action" part very much writ large; we found it more akin to the likes of <strong>Gauntlet</strong> than, say, the <strong><a href="https://www.nintendolife.com/guides/feature-best-zelda-games-of-all-time">Zelda</a></strong> series. No doubt that statement will have many series fans gnashing their teeth at this writer's ignorance, and for that, we can only apologise; not being what you'd call a <em>committed</em> fan of the long-running <strong>Ys</strong> series, you might wonder if a useful position can actually be offered. Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury Rated For The Nintendo Switch

<p><strong>Arrives next February.</strong></p> <p><strong><a href="https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2020/09/eas_need_for_speed_hot_pursuit_remaster_has_been_rated">Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered</a></strong> isn't the only game that's been recently rated. Yesterday, in Australia, <strong><a href="https://www.nintendolife.com/games/nintendo-switch/super_mario_3d_world_plus_bowserrs_fury">Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury</a></strong> was classified by the local board.</p> <p>Unlike EA's game, this Nintendo published title has obviously already been announced. We also know it's arriving next year 12th February.
