Nintendo's 2023 started off with a bang. Fire Emblem Engage launched in January and brought the series back to its combat-focused roots, forgoing the relationship-sim elements that had worked so well in its predecessor, Three Houses, for a game where the action came thick and fast.

We loved it. Engage provided a sleek and visually stunning take on the franchise's combat mechanics offering up some sweet turn-based tactical action. And this has continued over the ensuing months, with developer Intelligent Systems and Nintendo putting out a whopping four separate waves of DLC, culminating in April's 'Fell Xenologue' story add-on.
