Famitsu's Japanese chart figures are now in for 20th - 26th April, revealing that Animal Crossing: New Horizons has smashed yet another record - and this one's a biggie.

The game sold an estimated 283,913 copies in Japan last week, taking its lifetime sales total in the region to a mighty 3.89 million. This means that in terms of physical sales in Japan (Nintendo doesn't regularly provide its digital sales data, unfortunately) New Horizons is now the best-selling game on Nintendo Switch, overtaking Super Smash Bros. Ultimate which currently sits at an estimated 3.66 million physical copies sold.
