We're used to hearing a story every once and a while about a prominent video game company applying for a handful of trademarks, but we'll admit this latest batch secured by Nintendo is much more than usual.
Instead of just a couple of games, Nintendo Co., Ltd has applied for 39 – yes, 39 – video game trademarks in Japan, based on titles released on older systems. The games mentioned include GameCube titles like Super Mario Sunshine and Eternal Darkness, Wii games such as The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, DS games including Golden Sun: Dark Dawn and even titles like Wave Race get a mention.
