Although it would have been a pretty safe guess regardless, it has been confirmed that Pokémon Sword and Shield will not support cloud saves on Nintendo Switch.
The news comes from the eShop listing for the two games - pre-purchasing is now live (with a surprising bonus gift for those in Europe) and we've already heard about the games' file sizes, but other details found on the page include the confirmation. Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! also lacked cloud support, so it would have been more surprising to see Sword and Shield support the feature, rather than not have it.
